Surprised no one started a thread yet about him dying. Do you guys think he died naturally in the pool or was there foul play (murder)? Seems kind of weird that he was found at the bottom of the pool and no one heard him needing help. Even if he passed out and fell in the water, there still would have been some kind of commotion (water splashing, yelling, etc).

I saw the article but didn't feel it was important enough to create a thread.



Many people die of natural causes all the time. Many people drown every year. What makes you even consider that there was foul play involved? He had a long extensive history of drug and alcohol abuse and law trouble. It's more likely he stumbled drunkenly and fell into the pool rather than foul play.

 

If King were black, we would have to accuse majik of racism for that but . . .



The man is dead and too bad for him. That's all. The Police will figure out the rest.

But I don't know where the racism suggestion comes from. I stumble drunkenly more than any other person I know, and I'm as saltine as they come! I just don't have a pool to fall into.

 

And no, racism would me suggesting a couple of LAPD vets on the case.

 

Of COURSE king is black and majik is as not-racist as god himself. I was at the end of a day when I heard a few times people would level a legit criticism at the President and then get called racist. That sh*t is starting to piss me off. I wish people would think before they just start calling people who DO think racists. Oh well.

 

Update:



Rodney King was under the influence of SEVERAL substances at the time of his death -- including alcohol, marijuana, cocaine, and PCP -- this according to Rodney's death report.



According to the report, the cause of death is listed as accidental drowning -- but the drugs were contributing factors.



The PCP is interesting because there was a theory around the time of the 1991 beating that Rodney displayed super-human strength because he was on PCP at the time. However, blood tests for the drug turned up negative.

In the report, the coroner says King was "in a state of drug and alcohol induced delirium" at the time of his death ... and either fell or jumped into the swimming pool.



The report continues, "The effects of the drugs and alcohol, combined with [King's preexisting heart condition] probably precipitated a cardiac arrhythmia and [King], thus incapacitated, was unable to save himself and drowned."



According to the report, King was naked and face down at the deep end of the pool when officials arrived on scene.



Cops also found a pitchfork, a hoe and a vaccuum pool sweeper in the pool ... which King's GF used to try and fish Rodney out of the water. The GF told cops she didn't go in after Rodney because she is not a good swimmer and was afraid to enter the water.







Note to self: Make sure wife is willing to jump into a pool to save your ass if you're naked and drowning.
