I got a new daily driver!
and....
I'm still in the family!
It's a 2001 Hyundai Accent, 2 door. Autotragic (yeah that kinda sucks), 93k, but runs like a charm.
And it cost..
$2500 with tax, title, etc. included. Yah..thats the car prices down here in FL. nana.gif
I'm so grateful to my dad who bought this car for me. He came down here, my tib ran fine, then 2 days later, the turbo blew. As much as he hates my tib, he got me out of this jam all the while telling me that I was a retard for putting a turbo in, in the first place. ha ha. But, I'm really thankful to have my one and only parent, (he's the mom and dad now lol) care about me so much. So thanks dad, and I love you to pieces.
/End sappy stuff.
What was funny was getting the actual deal..my dad gave the salesman a whole sob story, pointed out all the flaws in the car, and threatened to leave lmao. He's very thorough with inspecting the car and then making the deal so that's how we got this awesome price.
The dealer wanted to try and show me a Ford Escort, and a Pontiac Sunfire..but I looked at my dad and was like..these dont look as good as that Accent..and I told the salesman that I prefer the Hyundai because I know so much about Hyundais.
Blah, blah, blah...$2500..its a deal.
And I had no intention of getting a Hyundai either..because there arent many around here. But this one popped up, and was the best car we saw and end of story.
Sorry no pics..so here's what it looks like. Minus the stripe and the rims..the rims I have are the stockers.

i really have always loved the 2-door accents of that generation. i believe that is LC, or LC2, im not really sure when it comes to accents. i know its a DD, but they make for a mean beta swap cool.gif haha jk. nice choice on the car, hope you can get the tib figured out soon.

^lol...yeah it's still nice to keep it in the fam.
Well I just found out by looking at it that its the GS model. Which is the 1.6L, dual overhead cam, 105hp..
Even a better deal then I thought, I figured because it was so cheap that I had settle for the 1.5L which I know from experience is a slug..this one's got pretty good pep to it..even Alex is impressed. nana.gif

LOL, youre right about the tib not boosting right if you say the accent has pep. But Im sure it gets great mileage! I had a 1.6 Nissan and that thing was slow as hell. Even with the 5-speed.

wierd, dad's 1.4L Cordoba is quick. You open the hood and the engine looks like your printer, yet it's just as impressive as my tiburon. my parents think i messed up with my car too, but nothing equals the happiness it brings me.
excellent job on the quick buy! i'm sure you won't mind the insurance on it. it's a tiny little whip, but it is an excellent beater. to be honest i loved the '95-'99 GT's and always wanted one, but the tiburon is just an excellent car for what you buy. people still drive around in those nasty fugly pontiacs that break all the time, hyundais are truly the best cars.
good job!!

She said it has "pep" not that it burns rubber.
My tib boosts just fine and im not sayin the accent will be winning any races in the 1320, just that the other one (1.5L) in the previous accent felt like you could get out and push the damn thing faster than it accelerated.
The 1.6L gets up to speed without any problem and is very comfortable when driving, the 1.5L was a pain to drive esspecaily at highway speeds, if you wanted to pass anyone you had to slam the gas, and it would downshift to 3rd, still not enough juice to pass, so then the car went to 2nd, sounded like you were a ricer trying to race just trying to pass a grandma doing 60 in a 65
105hp doesnt sound like much (and it isnt) but it does an adequate job accelerating 2300lbs, remember, its not a racer, just a comfortable DD
Im probably going to do the free mods to it (TB bypass, resonator removal, etc) but just because its free and why not...

lol I have a hard time not modding anything slightly. The accent is light to so Im sure it gets up to speed. So the Tibs just sitting until some money comes along to try and get it fixed again?
