When religious people come to your door (Jehovas, Mormons, etc) how do you handle it? Are you polite to them and say you’re not interested or do you just slam the door on them? Do you listen to what they have to say or interrupt them right away?

 

I used to watch them thru the peep hole while making all sorts of noise. Now that the gates in my neighborhood are closed, it's trespassing, so they don't come in...

I tell them I believe and worship the Dark Lord....

 

I have a theological discussion on why they believe what they believe. I'm naturally curious.



But, I don't think it's effective. Look at Muslims, they don't do heavy recruiting - they live their lives devoted to their faith a million times more than Christians. Sure, I know Muslims that have cheated on their wives and had kids with someone else while married to their wives. They aren't ethically different from Christians, but they'll get down and kneel and pray their xx times a day.



I'm a Christian, not even close to Muslim, but if Christians would just live their lives how they're suppose to they'd "win" a lot more people to their side than knocking on doors.



oh yeah, and don't take life too seriously

 

I try to meet them at the car and tell them to get out and don't come back. Seems to have worked as it's been about 5 years since I ran off a bunch of old ladies trying to pass out the Awake propaganda. There was a lot of cackling as they got in the car and left.....

 

make some strange sexual noises (add some animal noises in for bonus points) and answer the door w/ a hard-on and invite them in-... never did it but it would be hilarious!

 

I talk to them generally, have long conversations sometimes.

 

when i was a kid i remember we had some jehovas at the door...my dad told them that we're muslims and we're aren't supposed to be talking to them. it was amazing how fast they ran to their car and floored it out of the driveway.
