On friday was the Relay for Life sponsored by the american cancer society. What happens is people form their own teams with friends, family, whoever. then they all raise money to be donated to the cancer society. and turn it in that night. Then at the relay they have things you can buy like a poster signed by the BEN-GAL cheerleaders, Joe Nuxall was there signing baseballs(for those who dont know him he was 15 when he went pro for the reds) and other objects. It isnt an actual relay but people do walk the track in rememberance or in honor of people. for $10 you were able to have a paper bag with sand and a candle in it placed along the entire track (1/4 mile) and on the bag you could right either IN HONOR of or IN MEMORY of and then the persons name. I forgot my camera so i took a picture of the bags they placed in the stands.
they had a SH*T load of bags around the track and then they put some up in the stands to spell HOPE.

At the end we raised well over $70,000!!!! My mom would have been proud of that! I walked 5 laps. One for each time she had it in the past 12 years.

Forgot to mention the relay was ALL night and into saturday morning. so a lot of people brought tents and camped out there. we do it every year at my old highschool. they have a dj there and everything so theres more to do than just walkin round a track

 

my grandma has cancer and im doing that with her this year i missed it last year, i got a relay for life keychain from last year she got me its a really good cause and im glad to see that, that many people participated in it.
