hahahaha... 35mph isn't a race. That's like barely getting out of 1st gear... which is a normal launch for me anytime I leave a stoplight.

Anyways, yeah, like Pat said, you were asking about a Legal Race... So basically a 1/4 mile track... Your going to get spanked by the Si.

AND DON'T EVER STREET RACE!!!!! If you do, I hope you get caught, fined $2000.00, your car impounded and you get sent to jail!!! Street racing is for idiots. Take it to the track.

Oh Shut up. I don't and won't ever street race. I'm 26, well settled and do not suffer from endowment problems like some of my 18 year old Asian brethren.

I do, however, like to brag cool.gif sometimes.

I'm going to say that in order for the SI to "spank" you he's going to have to know how to drive and especially how to LAUNCH. Only way for it to not be a close race is for the SI to launch in his "vtec powerband" which is pretty high in them R's, probably like 4-5? What kind of clutch does he have?
I personally think if you got those cams and ecu reflash you would be good to go, plus you could lengthen your gears and get a little more out of them since those cams+ecu still make GOOD power until 7500rpm. They also increase power throughout the entire powerband, horsepower in a race depends on "the area under the curve" of your car's dyno graph. The SI gets a sort of "spike" in the vtec range, whereas you have constant power.
I think it's going to come down to mostly the driver.

The 06 SI will beat an RD's ass stock for stock. With all the same mods, SI will still win. Bottom line is that you have to have a a nice amount more mods than the SI.

In order for the SI to spank you? Um...it has to do nothing to spank you...It already can.

(my former civic HX got vtec at 3,000, dont know about the new SI though)

This is quarter mile right? Because I have to admit, the new suspension setup on the SI is killer. IT would own the Tib in a road course IMO.

Either all the VTEC Hondas around here are garbage, the Tibs that I've driven are factory freaks, or you guys overestimate the cam setup in Hondas. Granted the i-VTEC is much better than the old setup, but a 15.1 isn't all that impressive. I guarantee I run around that +/i a few tenths come Spring with I\H\E at the track... and hopefully I'll video it. I'm hanging with local stock WRX's from a roll. I'm sure the Tib will see some track days before the GSX gets back together.

Full N\A bolt-ons (I\H\E\BBTB\BIM) will get you ahead of one if you know how to drive.

New SI's run low 15's. I ran low 15's with I/H/E and 100lbs weight reduction. BBTB and ported IM would put a good driver ahead of SI.
