Rd Vs 06 Si
If these two cars were to face off on a approved track in a controlled, legal environment wink1.gif, what would it take for an all motor RD to take an Si?
Before you pass judgement either way, note that the Si has a 0-60 time of 7.38 secs. The Tib is supposed to do 60 in 7.9 secs, so not much of a difference.
Will a Tib with I/Airram/H/E match an Si?
But what if an Si had these same mods? Would the Honda respond to NA mods as well as Honda's have traditionally?
Interesting match if you ask me. Especially when you throw the 270deg cams that Airbourne is selling into the mix.

the tib would have to be midly boosted or pretty much all out n/a to win
the si's torque is pretty close to ours though so with it's 197 hp it's a bit deceiving.

Are you talking about a GK V6? Those cars are soooo ridiculusly slow. You neeeeed to throw in a lot of N/A mods to get it over 200hp. That's all I know, I don't know anything about Hondas other than the fact that they are pretty fast to start off with.
My friend has an Accord which has nothing but a catback on it, and it's fairly quick. Absolutely no match for a Volkswagen GTi though. If I were to bet any cars up against the GK V6, RSX/S, or Si, it would definitely be the GTi or VR6.

Si wins. Sorry, but that damned VTEC kills us.
Every Si that I've raced at a track against, I've been ahead... up to 3rd gear. As soon as we hit that 60mph mark and go into 3rd gears, its all over. Their VTEC has kicked in and their moving much faster than us at the higher RPMs.
maybe in an 1/8 mile we win cause of torque. Still, its that 3rd gear that kills us.

So you are saying that even with 155WHP just with the cams and the reflashed ECU + gains from I/Airram/H/E etc etc. an Si will kick a Tib with a 400lb advantage?
I find that hard to believe. Esp looking at how close the 0-60 times are.

What part of the title don't you get? LOL
Si would take the RD N/A (comes down to driver skill) so if your friend is a retard, you'll take him.

0-60 means nothing. Cause an Si doesn't start moving until after 3500rpm. Once again... VTEC kills us.
Your talking about a Civic who's motor produces like 140whp at 3000rpm and suddenly goes to 170whp at 3500rpm when VTEC kicks in. (I don't know the real numbers, but just an example.)
Unless the N/A Tib is producing about 170-180whp, you won't be able to keep up with a an Si.

0-60 means nothing.
I disagree. 0-60 mean EVERYTHING in a 35 mph street where both drivers are afraid of too much punishment by the law.
