Default Rain racing??!

So, I just home from the bar, throwing darts with my buddies. As I'm leaving, a blue civic Si leaves the parking lot with me. I thought nothing of it as I turned a corner and he drove up right beside me. We get to a light and I can hear him revving his engine. It's raining steadily outside, so I'm like..ok, the stock wheels don't afford much traction in the rain. I play along anyhow and rev and slowly release the clutch when the light goes green to avoid excessive wheel spin. Well, we're flying down the road which happens to have a speed limit of 30mph. He starts pulling ahead a little which makes be gun it more. We get up to 50 in no time and he slows down, while I pass him and then slow down.

We reach the next light and I guess I didn't notice his friend tailing us in a new generation prelude. He's right behind me. I pull away from the light slower for no apparent reason and then he passes me and pulls into my lane. The prelude gets into the left lane and they proceed to block me in. (at this time I notice the DC sports sway bar underneath the Civic and realize that I saw this guy at a recent car show...met him before, he's cool) The prelude then gets infront of the civic, dunno why.. I drop it into 2nd and fly past both and jump ahead. After the next light the speed limit is 50mph and were little chance of cops.

I floor if off the line, civic pulls next to me...we're soon up to 80mph. I slow down because it's raining and I'm not stupid. The civic passes me and a nissan 200sx pulls along side, drops into 3rd or 4th and revs, pulling away. Now I'm like..ok, I can't handle an Si but I can take a 200sx. I drop down and fly up and past him. The race ends about a minute later as I had to turn at a light to head home. I didn't flash my signals because I only beat 1 of the 3 cars but I dropped my window and gave a thumbs up for a good race smile.gif

Hope I didn't bore anyone, it's late and I'm exhausted. BTW, I only had 2 people want to race me when I had my 98 Eclipse GST...now I've already been in 9 races with my 00 Tib. Kinda funny I think..can't wait to get my turbo. *sigh*

Well, the Prelude would beat me even stock, but he also had exhaust and dunno what else. As for the Si, I was actually surprised at how well I did because like I said, I saw him at a show and he has intake/exhaust. This coupled with the inconsistencies of starting in the rain (he might have better wet traction, who knows). Were it a true race, who knows as I've beaten a couple Si's before. He was a quarter car length ahead at the end anyhow.

A fun race nonetheless which is all I care about wink.gif

I would definately say you would beat a civic Si.

I like meeting people with civic Si's and wooping them. It tends to burst their ego.

civic SI is not in our competition.. Hell, even civic SiR is not in our competition. Guys that I worked with had Si ans SiR. They have to drop down to 3rd to get power to push at 120 Km/h.. They might beat me at the top speed but not a chance in a race.. I beat them both (I should say I toy with them) on the way to work everyday..
