Default Question for people who have been in the military and everyone else....

I leave for basic August 10th and since then I've been running, eating more protein and working out with little results... well the other day I decided to try some Creatine Powder from Wal-mart. It's been 4 days and I can already see and feel a difference.. Now I was planning on still taking this until a week before Basic.. Would I get in trouble for taking this? I mean wal-mart sells it...... it's not illegal but I don't want to get DD'd before I'm even in there.....

i took creatine for awhile but I would stop right before basic. you don't want to be taking it too long anyways as it's really hard on your kidneys. i don't know about the military's stance on this but here's my input nonetheless. what you've seen in the past few days is all water weight. from what i remember creatine floods your muscles with water so make sure you are drinking TONS. also, drink cranberry juice or some other juice with lots of dextrose when you take your creatine as it helps in the absorption of creatine more than fructose.

I stopped taking after about 2 months and i don't regret taking it at all. i'll probably cycle on it again here soon. it gave me a big boost that allowed for bigger lifts and more overall strength. to put it in perspective i used to only be able to bench about 90lbs and after about 3 months of working out and taking creatine and protein i was benching around 155 (i weigh about 145). just don't go overboard, like i said, it's hard on your kidneys so stop after about 2 or 3 months, or just before basic.

I believe somewhere on your container it will give you heart/kidney problem warnings. Read it. My dad was taking it for a while until I read the label.
