Default Question: From PC to TV

I want to connect my PC to my TV, so I can watch movies that I D/L on a bigger screen..

I'm not even sure how expensive or inexpensive something like this would cost.

Any suggestions on products?

most of the time, your graphic card came with a tv out. You only need a set of composite cable and an adaptor for the sound.

If you know what all the plugs on your laptop do, then you most likely don't have any other video out, except the VGA plug for an external monitor.

You'll most likely need something like this

Which you can purchase here.

There are others available, but this is the cheapest I found off the bat. I'd suggest looking around for the best deal though.

I just looked on the internet for details about my video card:

2x AGP Local Bus
32-bit graphics engine
3D (Direct 3D)
Integrated LVDS
Supports simultaneous (LCD + CRT) display, Plus Tv-out
VESA compliant

So it seems i have that function. However i dont know what it looks like or where it is located?

Tib,

The TV out looks like an S-Video connections, what model laptop do you have?
I have a Dell, it came with an adapter, TV out to RCA. You will need that and a 1/8 stereo mini jack to RCA cable to hok the sound up to your TV as well.

I have a IBM thinkpad.

The closest thing I have that looks like a s-video connection on the back of my laptop, is where I can Plug in a mouse.
