Question about the fast and the furious
B16,
Where do you get your info off of other people posted messages. Do to your rep on this board already post a little more info to back your statements. There were approx 5 replicas to set up the different stages you saw in the movie. The actual car does have turbo, a nice one at that.

Who really cares what was fake about the movie?? I could sit there and pick apart anything from any moveie i've ever seen but that doesn't make the movie suck. Who cares if the Eclipse was a non turbo. It still looked good and looked fast. It's just a movie. It isn't made to be real. Just sit back and enjoy the fact that there is finally a movie out there that shows an interest in the import scene and shows some wicked ass looking cars.
I remember when it first came out I was talking to a guy who is really domestic happy and goes "Yeah that yellow Mustang was the best man!", I said "It's a Nissan". I had to argur for an hour that it was a Nissan Skyline.
Plus everyone says "I want NOS!!" But do they even realize that's just a company and the name of the product is Nitrous? That's always made me mad though.
There was a lot of mods they showed in that movie that I wanted before the movie, but now that EVERYONE has seen some of that stuff, it's not really as cool. When he has a PlayStation in his car for example, there was so many people who thought that was "invented" in the movie, that no car has a TV with a PSone or PS2 in it.
I like to hear people say "if it's an import movie why is there a VW?" You'd be surprized how many people think the VW is domestic.
They needed a Datsun, imports gained a lot of acceptence because of the Datsun. If a sleeper Datsun 510 pulled up and beat the Supra, then there would be a movie!

It looked "fast" because it was ricey lime green with 50LBS of stickers or because it has a tripple decler wing and a "roof scoop". bwahahahaha!

Let's see, my car is ricey blue, with 50lbs of stickers a double decker wing etc. and I have no complaints about mine. So what's the point your trying to make here????

Later!!!

Depends. A Grand Prix on a dyno machine with no wind shear, etc, can reach 200 mph. That's a GT with some mods, and the GT has the 3.29 final ratio (while the GTP has a 2.79 even though it has a blower..go figure). The gearing should NOT have been able to do that but it did. Mechanically, cars are ALWAYS rated lower than what they can truely do or what their true HP is. They say it's an "average". Yeah..right..on average EVERY car is above what they say the average is so it's averaged low for insurance. For instance, let's say your Tibby's are rated at 140 or so..I'm really not sure what they are rated at..they probably put out closer to 150 or so. GM and Ford have been ly..um.."averaging" out things for a LONG time. wink.gif Just like your trans might say "limited to 160 hp and 180 ft/lbs of torque" but they can usually go higher. Just wanna be careful of how much further over you go.
