The other area is the HD output... PS3 will run in 1080p where as xbox360 only runs in 720p. Its supposed to be a big difference, but most people do not have a 1080p TV yet.

Hasnt anyone hears about the big flaw in the 360? Alot of complaints were filed in the first week. The 360 stopped working for some people after only 8-12 hrs of game play.
Yeah, it wont happen for everyone, you can return it for a new one. But still, I wouldnt want it because of that.

It's 1080i the "i" means interlaced. All Tv signals are currently interlaced meaning it takes 2 frames strung together to create 1 frame of video. Now 1080p means progressive, like most newer DVD players. Progressive scan means it scans lines on your TV from top-to-bottom. It's slightly better, extremely negligible (sp?) If you dont have an HDTV, the progressive DVD players dont really do anything for you. No broadcast network is doing 1080p yet and there isn't any software, ie: games/movies that support the 1080p scan rate. PS3 may have it (I don't know) but you'll have to buy a 1080p set to enjoy it.
And that goes for the Xbox, if you dont have an HDTV, you're NOT seeing the HD graphics.

1080i is interlaced (odd number lines are drawn to the screen, then the even on the next pass... back and forth). 1080p is progressive (scans all of the lines in a single pass).

^^^ Actually I beleive all DVD's are still 720p (unless they are upconverted). True 1080p wont be out until HD-DVD or blu-ray hit the market.
