Pic Request
Hey I just bought my muffler ( http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/shopexd...one=main&id=782 )and im goin to be taking it to get the piping sometime next week. Im goin to get straight through exhaust no cat since we have no emissions laws in ohio now. how loud is this goin to be? and would one glass pack quit it done some? I was never really a fan of the angled look but the more i see it the more i like it.
The point of this is so I can bring a picture in to show the shop exactly what I want. Im sure they will know what im talkin about but itd be nice to see some pictures just for myself as well. To get the angled look do i tell them to go under axle? or what lol newb question i know.
thanks in advance

I had a 2.5" exhaust with a Forza straight muffler. It sounded pretty good.
1. If you are n/a and they are going to be crushing the bends, then definately go with 2.5" all the way back. It could get down to almost 2" at some spots.
2. You can always install a resonator somewhere in there if it's too loud for you.
3. Go with the angled muffler. It's not a "look". It's actually functional. In the rear of the car, at the suspension, they will have a choice of either looping over the suspension, or going just below it near the center of the car. I HIGHLY suggest you go below the wishbone because it runs almost straight, and eliminates the tight hump in the pipe they would have to make. By going under the suspension near the middle of the car, this puts the muffler at an angle once it tried to reach the stock notch in the bumper.
Note: Make sure they go more towards the center of the suspension or the passenger susp. arm will hit the pipe when it moves up/down.

Small world, I also live in Ohio, and I set-up the exhaust system on my 2001 Hyundai Tiburon the same as you are planning for your car. I started with an OBX Racing Sports OBX 4-2-1- Header/Cat Exhaust System, a RACTIVE MT-612 High Performance muffler, and I remove both of the cats from my car. The noise is a little loud, loud enough that I have to turn-up the volume on my sound system when even I what to hear my music. However, I have never been pulled over by the cops, even though a city cop and two deputy sheriffs live on the same street that I live on.
Well, here is a pic of my new exhaust tips. I had pics of my custom exhaust, but they got lost when my computer crashed last year. 02.gif Oh well. My exhaust consists of a high flow cat, and two glasspacks, one thats very large, 36" running along the center of the car, and one that is 13" right before the tips. No muffler. All 2 1/4" piping. You should really consider that. Using a muffler will give you just as much backpressure as using just a highflow cat and straight pipes. Do us all a favor and put a cat on. smile.gif fing02.gif
heres my angled setup....
Catback.... 2.5inch pipeing, 18" glass packed resonator, apexi N1 style muffler with 4 inch outlet.

Here you can see that the pipe is coming from the center of the car to clear the suspension.
You really want to go with the 2.5", since they will be crushing it around corners.
