Hey everyone, I'm having a little brain storm here. I have a childhood friend who is about to get his license. I've been trying to convince him to modify his tiburon. I've got it all set up. He's getting a 1998 dark blue Tiburon SE Automatic. He's not into cars as much as I am, but he has it in him. I just need the help of this forum to ignite some interest in his car enough to get him on the road.

He would start off with basic mods like CAI, painting the car metallic white, Angel eyes, F2 Bumper, gold Kyowa 220 rims & gold rotors, shark spoiler...etc. It would at least get him where he wants to be. I would help him with everything. Sure it would cost some money to do everything but it would beat buying a new car for him. He has a job, he's got some silly income. It is my mission to help him get out of buying cigarettes and exchange the extra cash into becoming obsessed about the tiburon. For what I have in mind it's sure to do the trick. But I need your help.

Any suggestions on how to convince him before I force him to introduce himself to rdtiburon? Any regards upon his first ever post will definitely contribute to restoring this beautiful car. Look out for an introduction soon. I want him to see this underground.

Just make sure when he paints the car, do it right...everyone hates seeing a "X color" car and when they open the doors, pop the hood, etc seeing a "Y color"

Easy. Get him out to his car, and walk him through taking off the resonator.

IF he paints the car!! My mechanic will do it for him for half price, the whole car all panels inside outside. The task I have is convincing him to do it. I'm having troubles getting him to register FREE on here.

by resonator you mean the air intake box? sheet, if he buys the part I will do the work for him!! hell i'd buy him an intake if that $150 didn't go to my car and I am greedy like that!!

With my progressively pestering attitude you guys will see his intro. I'm trying to save a tib here! (and a friend of course but tibs come first!)

No no no.

Get him to go outside and take his car for a hard run down the street. When he comes back, pop the hood, and do the resonator removal DIY with him. Should take about 15 minutes tops. The upper and lower resonator and the air ducting. Then have him hop back in and drive it again, with the windows down.

hahah you're right!! i think that should do the job! dude your genious. the only way to do this is to get him behind the wheel and to see what 1 minute worth of bolting can do.

i even have an old AEM split in half i could give him to keep. Ok, thanks again, expect his introduction soon... Hope for the best!

it's too late for that Dmitry! i wish he could get a stick shift but unfortunately it's inherited. and she's a beauty.

wattsup you feel my pain right? it's soooo annoying. a best friend, has the same nice car as me but he's 20 and in NO rush to get his license. and the tiburon is just sitting there in the mud. i can't believe this crap, I keep telling him, "man look if you want a good nice hot girlfriend you're going to have to impress her. get this damn car on its wheels again and impress her!" he denies it and keeps wondering why his relationships last two weeks. it's because he's got nothing to show and nothing to give. want a great example? look at Blacktibs!!!! He's got it aaaalllllll. I'm sure he agrees that the main reason he modified his sweet piece of hyundai is to impress lady model Angela and to show his buddies different can be cool.

I wish all of my best friends drove hooked up Tiburons so we could be a pack like sharks swim in a pack, brothers in a pack. Unfortunately Maryland is so mixed up it's beyond comprehension. When I go up to Germantown suburbs it's where all the rich kiddies have Mustangs and Camaros. Whenever I see a V8 Mustang pack cruising together I get sooo jealous because I know they're all friends and have fun cruising together. For everyone who denies Hyundais at my restaurant, I once wish that Me and my buddies would all pull into the front VIP parking all in our sexay little hyundais and just wait to see them all take back everything they've ever badmouthed my car on right back.

It will help save the friendship and it will help give a new addition to this community. With my taste you can't go wrong. That is why I need everyones help on this, as much support I can get to give him insight.

I think it might be hard to get him to fix up the Tib if you can't even talk a 20 year old into getting his license. I wish you luck though. We'll make sure to hound him if he ever does an intro.
