Default Organizing drive to HUGE MEET in EUREKA, CA

Okay the meet is in Eureka, CA in July (16th and 17th).

Here is the thread for general information:
http://www.rdtiburon.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5372

This thread is for all the tiburon drivers from BC, Western Washington, Eastern Washington, Oregon, etc. to be able to organize a meeing place where we can all meet up and drive to Eureka together.

The meet is in July so the pass through the Cascades will be open and drivable, so everyone from Eastern Washington should be able to come. This meet will be huge, and you'll have a blast.

The meeting place:
Why not make it the Fry's parking lot as usual?
-It's very close for all the tiburons drivers around Seattle.
- It's on the way to Cali for all the drivers coming from Canada, Everett, and northern Washington.
- It is relatively close to where I-90 meets I-5 (which will make it easy to find for those coming from Eastern Washington.

Plus is it "THE" meeting place for the NW!

So, we could have everyone from the NW meet at Fry's....
then head down I-5 to say Portland or somewhere in Oregon where we could meet up with all those drivers going from Oregon.

Someone from Oregon post in here if you're going so we can decide on a place.

Also, all the people from NT living close to the Oregon/Washington border could meet up with us in Portland or in Vancouver, WA. somewhere around there.

Then once everyone is togther in Oregon...it's on to Eureka.

_______
The only thing we still have to decide is whether or not we want to make this drive in one day or two? I say we make it a two day drive, that way we can relax and get a hotel on the coast in Oregon (pretty close to Eureka so our second day's drive is short) and chill at the beach.

So:
July 14th:
-meet at Fry's early in the morning
-drive to Oregon (pick up any drivers along the way that are coming)
-get a hotel in Oregon and kick back.

July 15th:
- make the drive to Eureka, CA
- get settled into hotel.
- get our cars ready for the car show
- party..... wink1.gif

July 16th:
- meet and greet
- car show
- raffle
- more partying

July 17th:
-race at track
- ???
- last day to party...

July 18th:
- drive home

Anyone from the NW reading this, waddya say?

I'm still debating it...i would probably do the drive in one day though...it all depends on when i get the car painted and if i want to risk a drive before HIN Seattle...I'll play it by ear..and see how many people are going before i totally commit..but the plan sounds good.

only problems is if i go..i drive slow.. :-)

I suggested a two day drive because the guys over at nt were talking about camping on the beach and partying one night or something....

Also, if that cclngthr guy was going he has to stop every hour to stretch (epilepsy...eyeroll.gif), but he just posted and said he wasn't going so that's not a problem anymore.

Me personally...? I'd want to do it in one day (leave early and get there in the evening).
But camping is fine with me if that's what everyone else is doing.

JD, I suggest you go. It's a long ways away so you have plenty of time to contemplate but from where it's at now there is already a big turnout, only to get larger. Many northern cali owners wil be there, the las vegas guys from nt will be there, british columbia tibs will be there, all the seattle/washington tibs will be there, AND

maybe even one guy from utah is coming

AND

maybe *hint* some LA tibs will be there (who could I be referring to...?)

AND EVEN maybe some NM tibs, if they're up for the drive. ALB-EUREKA = SEATTLE-EUREKA.......(plus a little smile.gif)

I dunno man, I really need to visit Cali again, but with the Vegas meet in August, I don't know if I'll make it.
