OK, got this car. A 97 1.8 RD1 Automatic. It is in very good condition. The last owner repainted it and its a pretty good job. Anyway, I have $1600 in it right now. Thats what I got it for. The transmission doesnt have overdrive. I am looking for opinions on what I should do to get my money out of this thing. Should I pick up a trans and swap it in and sell it for $2200 locally? (i dont think anyone on here would pay it, but i would try) Or try and sell it as is for what I paid? Or lastly I could part it out but I dont think i could possibly get my money out of it. What do you guys think? The engine runs awesome and everything is very clean on it.

Also, quick question. 2.0 trans fits 1.8 engine right? I think it does?

dunno what to tell you to do but in regards to your latter question, you will need a flywheel made for a 1.8L motor.

and an extra hand. lol

An extra hand for what? Removing/installing a tranny? Its not needed if you know whats up. I can remove my tranny by myself in an hour and a half(manual tranny of course). LOL Way to much practice. It should fit. I dont see why not. I know people have talked about swapping a 1.8l elantra tranny for shorter gears but once again for manual trans.
