There is actually a simple explanation for that.

...reminds me of those rinky-dink R/C robots that Herrington and Sharper Image sell this time of year. You know, those little things that have a big platter in one hand, and you can put your tray of drinks or appetizers on it and steer it around the room for people to pick up from.

This guy can just drive his car around the party instead.
