QUOTE (UltraTibby)
Last time I checked America was formed on the foundation of no specific religion. Thus, making country wide laws that do no more than follow one religious belief simply goes against eventhing that this country was founded for! People came here to escape the religious prosicution. That is by all means what Bushy is trying to do. Religion is separate from government. Bushy does not see it that way since he pushes around his "faith" every opertunity he gets.
you're wrong, but since it's 4am and I've now been up for 22 hours, I'm going to bed and I'll tackle this tomorrow.
This country was built on Protestant beliefs. The amendments do not say anything about church vs. state.... it was originally brought up in a speech gave by (i think) Thomas Jefferson. The whole freedom of religion thing means that the Church won't act as a government and controlling the people as it was doing in England at the time. You have the freedom to worship whatever you want, wherever you want, whenever.
The only thing about church and state is that a government can not show favoritism or support for one specific form of religion over another... meaning they can't give funding and priviledges to one group and not another. Have to be equal so to speak.
Yes, they came here for freedom from religion reign, but also to practice Christianity away from government control of such.

REDZ, here's the same website as the link you posted, except this one isn't linking off of others. This is the original site. Maybe they'll have more up soon.

I want to make a comment about the raising of minimum wage thing that was said before these were moved. Every location in the states has an individual minimum wage. Example where I am currebtly stationed, North Chicago the minimum wage is a woping $5.35. However in San Jose it is $13.50. And yes I know this from friends' family who are living there. Crazy how the economy of a location influences the wage thing. Keep this in mind if the minimum wage is increased the cost of living in those places will also increase.

Sorry man, I used to live in the Bay Area and work in San Jose.
The minimum wage is not 13.50.
They may have a LIVING wage, but that's city or state driven.
