I remember when President Obama said he was going to wait for a new Congress to settle in before he was going to take action. Now, he's getting it all done before Republicans get in the Senate.

Why not? Who will stop him? He has nothing to lose! The republicans are already taking their strongest bargaining chip off the table. Well, second-strongest, because the guy who was just re-elected to lead them in the house flatly stated they wouldn't ever impeach him.

Besides a lack of accountability, his party stands to gain if/when his policies f*ck up the country even more. The mean-ol' republicans' fault, that's what it is! Blame them and re-elect MY party!

He says he won't do anything if Congress passes a bill. Problem is even when Republicans take control, they've already said they won't pass a bill because they don't have 66 votes in the Senate which means they'd have to pass something that would get at least a few Democrat votes. Republicans aren't interested in passing anything that a Democrat can get behind. So, since they've already said they're not going to do anything, he's just following through with the threat he made. BTW, I'm anti-illegal, but I'm even more anti-"we can't get what we want, so we're gonna sit on our f*cking hands and do nothing".

I am betting you are also anti-"I can't get what I want from the legislature so I'll just make laws by executive fiat through regulatory agency action" too. Kindof a sucky government we have, just at the moment.

Well, the way our representative government works, the Executive is after the Legislative. This means if the Legislative is broken, the Executive must govern.
