Please try not to confuse religion and politics. I know they're both belief systems controlled by a vast hierarchy of liars seeking nothing but blind control of the masses, but I assure you they are two different things.

Sorry Stocker, I gotta go with OTEC on this one....

You have no clue what this guy would have done. You don't know the future. John 8, when they bring a women caught in the act of adultry, and wanted to punish her for that action. And what did Jesus say?

But this guy wasn't even caught in the act of doing drugs and you condemn him automatically for this? I understand statistics are statistics.... But God never judged us on statisics. In fact despit 100% of us being sinners, He still sent his Son to die for us, having compassion on us, and He STILL knew that some wouldn't accept this gift and would continue to live sinful lives.

Maybe this homeless guy was on drugs and that is why he is homeless, maybe he decided to never do drugs again that day and God sent you to give him money to help him turn his life around? Maybe he lost his house in a fire and had no insurance, maybe he stayed home to tend after the kids and his wife had an affiar and left him and took his house, maybe he was a pedophile and just got out of jail?

Meaning you have NO CLUE why he is there, but even if you did and it was 'bad', who are you to judge his past? Or on what you think his future may be? Maybe you having compassion on him, sharing God with him, showing God's love could be enough to turn his life around? You do have faith God can do that right?

You shouldn't live you live with "the ends justify the means". You don't worry about the ends, you don't know the ends, God does, so if you wish to follow in His teachings and His Son's, you act on the now, the means. You see a guy, you have compassion on him NOW as he is a human now that needs compassion. Not because what he did or might do.

In Luke 10, the good samaritan...I am sure even back then a guy stripped of clothes and beaten could be assumed to have been a drunk and a no good and deserves to be where he is. The priest saw him, and passd on the other side (possible muttering to himself "Fast forward and the boots are gone, stolen or sold for the next hit. Why was this guy naked in the first place?"). The samaritan took care of him, would have probably given him boots. Luke 10: 27-29 and 36. What is the second greatest commandment? Love your neighbor as yourself?

I am not saying give all your posessions to the poor, I don't always give to homeless, but if God calls me to I do. But there is no need to look at them with such condesention. Kind of that old addage, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all".

Luke 6:37 Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.

Matthew 7:2 For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

I am sure you know sin is sin, and as a sinner, though you are a diamond that God wants, he can't have you until you have that speck on your removed. God doesn't care about your past, and forgives you for it, and wants us to do the same. That whole "Jesus loves you" link you have....

Christians were first called that meaning a follower/disciple of Christ. I pointed out some of the many examples of how Christ lived, I would hope you can apply some of those to your life.

The only time you do see judgment and condescention is when Jesus is repremanding 'religious' folk.

I hope that is something you can read the Bible and challenge/verify what I wrote and reflect upon that in your future decisions...

Unless I felt God led me to do so, I probably wouldn't have given $100 boots to the man either (who knows, maybe I would have) but I would certainly not speak ill of a man that did or the compassionate act.

Hebrews 13:2 Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it

That's a lot of words, didn't read beyond a false accusation. I never condemned anybody here, I's just sayin'.

No need for all this needless apprehension. I wouldn't call it religion as much as basic instinct. In crime-infested D.C. instinct says keep to yourself and stay on your own route. Just ask any D.C. jogger 10AM or 10PM. I don't think a jogger mom here has ever forgiven her rapist. If they did, the world would probably be one big polygamy lol. That's just not the way it works.

Although I commend this cop, many D.C. cops have been killed by these men or men involved in drug/prostitution rings surrounding these men. You all just never hear it because it's not publicized nationally. In fact, I remember reading about one 23-sum year old off-duty cop that ran after a purse-snatcher at Applebees and was shot and killed because of his good deed. Kinda hard to forgive someone when you're not alive.

There are legitimate shelters for people and standard qualifications for people to get government aid/support. If they're not involved in either or both, it means they did something that society has deemed harmful.

I've donated to the homeless but the last time I did, a group of cops saw it, took the money out of his container and returned it to me and told me to keep walking. That's the sad reality of it, at least here on earth.

I wasn't trying to acuse you of anything, just give food for thought. I never said you condemned anyone. Though i did say you judged him and put many examples of how Jesus didn't judge sinners based on their past or current circumstances.

Maybe if you read it (all of it) you will see this.

I'm not trying to get into a pissing contest with you...it isn't about right or wrong, just trying to share/show God's love. As a lot of folks don't know about it. It is my job to inform them of it when oportunity presents itself, or live it so they can see it.
