New Mortal Kombat Movie
This looks BADASS!!! They got my $10.50. This is just a reel sent out to potential investors, but if they make it, looks like it will kick ass.

That's NOT a trailer. This has been all over the internet today. It's a pitch vid that a director made to pitch the movie to WB. This comes straight from Jeri Ryan, who was in the short.

Cheesy, nu, lack of quality, no depth, another 2000's "fantastic 4" remake of some sort and a genre-killer sellout failure like Resident Evil and Max Payne were.
Well see, but I'm usually on par with Roger Ebert and Rottentomatoes on pickinness.

What I like about this, is how they pull the whole reality into things. Its not some other weird dimension with creatures fighting each other. The characters and story line are real world style.
If this gets made, I may check it out. The first 2 MK movies were huge disasters.

so looking at that flick
makes it look like it wont follow any of the story lines in games itself really
unless this happens before MK1 or something

by doing this, you take all of the creativity and reasoning out of a series that solely exists because it was creative to begin with. the original is the reason you still hear the name today, and the it's the reason it keeps inspiring people everyday almost 20 years later. say this "real" movie comes out, what makes you think it will have the same effect? i
reality is something we see here on earth. but isn't this a new age where we have discovered that reality is only some human perception of what we see exists on earth, and that there are 100 billion trillion ∞ galaxies out there full of metaphysics and humans are ∞ of a dot. wasn't the point of MK to explore those realms, worlds, "souls"? ...and here we have a "realistic" thriller with skin cells, helicopters, and detectives?
it just seems like another cheesy low-budget "summer flop". i also believe the original movies were absolutel crap because they were done by Paul W.S. Anderson, the bafoon that was hired to make the cruddy Resident Evil movies. He's like the British version of M. Night. Shyamalanisuckatmakingmovies.
