Ok so I am looking to get a new computer but I dont know what type of processors are good or graphics cards or anything
like that, so I want to be able to play all the new games with out any lag, I also want to be able to run 2 monitors as one
screen and also be able to run big programs (such as CS3) can someone point me in the direction of some good computers.
And I do not want to spend a lot a lot though just a heads up

Not sure if you have Futureshop in the USA, but find something similiar to this:
http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetai...6A94B28C7409033
20-inch monitor, 2GB of RAM, Athlon64 dual-core 4400+ processor. All for $500.
Don't look for the top of the line machine. That computer plus another $60 stick of RAM and a $150-$200 video card will run anything out there.

the HP combos at Costco (the ones with the Q66 Quad Core processors) are a great deal. PLenty of computer for all your needs, and combos from $700-$1300 which include everything.

^^I second that. I ended up getting my computer at Best Buy. Its a Gateway. Came with everything for 700.00. (Computer, 22" monitor, speakers/mouse/key, printer, warranty through best buy) I upgraded the video and sound myself. Total cost came to around 800 I believe. I am running two monitors, the 22 it came with and also my 37 LCD, full 5.1 surround. So far no problems with my gateway.

The only thing I want to change on the desktop is the video card to be able to run dual monitors. And I dont know what video card to get or if it will be compatable with vista

if you want something really cheap, look at the Dell Outlet. It's updated daily, and the good stuff sells fast. I got my Athlon 5600+ 2.8Ghz 2GB RAM system for $350 I think. With the refurbished 19" widescreen, it was $505 AFTER shipping and 9.75% sales tax. Monitor arrived the next day, computer arrived the day after that.
The stuff sells fast. I found one for the same price as mine, but came with built in wireless on the desktop. I went to buy it an hour later and it was gone.

Wow, that link that Kant posted is an awesome deal. I just spent $400 building a system with similar specs for my HTPC. That monitor alone is worth $150.
Here's what you should look for at the minimum:
2 GHz (Pentium D equivalent or higher)
2GB RAM
100GB HD
64MB video
Geeks.com and Tigerdirect.com have some good deals once in awhile, check those out.
Expect to pay between $500-800

You need a video card with dual outputs. LOL. There are lots of them, you can get a decent one for around $40, they aren't that expensive. Get a PCI-Express video card.
