Alright guys, my laptops harddrive is broken, Im getting it fixed but Im not going to keep that laptop just cause I know first hand computers dont run the same after you do extensive work to them. After talking to my dad, he said the best thing to do is just get a new and better laptop. Price range here is going to be up to $1000. My old laptop was a Dell. Im surprised it broke so quickly because I have a Dell comp. at home and its been running great for the two years Ive had it. Obviously Im looking toward getting a computer from another company.

I dont need that much memory, but I do need the comp. to be decently fast. 40gb hd is good enough for me.

Can you guys give me any suggestions? Theres so many notebooks outt there and I just want one that wont crap out on me in six months. I'd really appreciate any help.

Thanks. smile.gif

Hi SwiftTiburon,

How about IBM (Lenovo) Thinkpad R-series? Using it currently. Happy IBM user here.

^lol thats what I thought when I saw that link. Windows 95 and a 12in screen doesnt work for me hehe. Ill look into HP and Compaq. I used to have an AMD processor on one of my old computers and it worked great. I heard intel celeron processors werent that good anyway.

What should have tipped me off on my laptop being bad from day one is that two of the keys popped off lol. I guess I just got stuck with a rotten apple. Either that or some malicious virus came onto my laptop somehow.

Ugh damn spyware/viruses. Damn bad luck too.

What do you guys think of the Alienware notebooks? I'm looking into getting one, but I'm not sure if they're worth it.
