If it has a fairly current OS and a usb port I would try to get ahold of a flash drive...they are sooo sweet.

If not you could try getting a crossover cable and hooking it up to your other computer and transferring or FTP'ing it to the other computer that way.

he doesn't have internet connected to the laptop. Most USB drives require Win XP or else you have to download drivers

 

^^yeah thats what I was getting at, some thumb drive don't need drivers in me and 2000 as well.

then I got distracted with the floppy thing, which if easily fix would really be the easiest solution since this old lappy probably has 98 or even 95....
