En su discurso de despedida agradeció a todos los voluntarios y activistas que durante su campaña cooperaron, afirmando que su trabajo no termina aquÃÂ*, pero que es momento de curar las heridas y unir al paÃÂ*s, cada voto cuenta y prometÃÂ* que contarÃÂ*a cada voto, sin embargo aún con los votos que quedan pendientes por contar, no es posible numéricamente la victoria asÃÂ* que es momento de aceptar la victoria del presidente.
Kerry afirmó que tuvo una conversación telefónica con George W. Bush, en la que charlaron sobre la importancia de volver a la unidad de la nación, por lo que trabajaremos inmediatamente, afirmó.
Por su parte el Presidente George Bush habló en su discurso sobre el tema más importante de la agenda exterior del paÃÂ*s en este momento, la guerra contra el terror, y dijo que no dudará en emplear todos los recursos de la nación con el fin de ganar esta lucha contra el terror.

* El presidente ofreció permisos temporales de trabajo de 3 años para los indocumentados, renovables al caducar.
