Need Geek Help
On my g/f's laptop, the icon background color is not transparent and I don't know why. I know about right clicking My computer, Advances, performance settings, and then adjust for the best appearance. That didn't work... Is there another way to get my icons transparent again? It sounds really dumb, but I hate this. I'm to the point where I may format just cause it bothers the hell out of me. If you don't know what I'm talking about, here.
i kept looking around for this cuz it was annoying me too.
first off, right-click on desktop>appearance>effects> check where it says smooth edges and choose clear type
if that doesnt go thru, right-click on my computer, on the advanced tab go to performance, click settings and choose adjust for best appearance.
if not right-click on on desktop, arrange icons by, make sure lock web items is NOT checked
if not then right-click on desktop, show desktop icons unchecked, then recheck it (this is what did it for me)
if not search around the net, theres a few more but i dont feel like lookin for em.

That should do it...
If still no luck, try googling "icon background" or "icon transparency" for other ideas.
