Well, since the Tiburon got totalled i was in dyer need of a car. I had a limited amount of money to work with since my whole insurance check went to the payoff of the vehicle.

I did look for another Tiburon, but finding a respectable one for $2000 is very hard. I searched for Elantras also, but to no avail.

I ended up buying a 1996 VW Jetta. Its in great condition. No dents, no rusting (as far as i've found so far). It's got 141K miles on it... but for a VW engine, thats really not much.

I found the car on Ebay. I ended up getting it for $1825. not very bad at all, considering KBB is about $3000 for private party sale

this is the only visible blemish on the exterior. notice the r/r door molding is missing. this is VERY common on VW's. i gotta get a replacement soon. it looks tacky.

and no... i'm never leaving this site. i'm addicted to here. plus, when i save up enough money, i do wanna buy another Hyundai. (its sad when you have to SAVE for a Hyundai. lol)

whatchya guys think?

Not bad choice man, and for $1875 it's great! The only thing that bothers me is 140K mi.... way too much for a 4cyl...

very neat! believen it or not, a long long time ago before tiburons fell into my eyes, even before i dreamed of Accent GT's, I always thought the Jetta was quite perfect. Funny thing I always imagined when I had a family I would have a jetta just like that. Little did I know the Jettas would evolve like mad overtime.

In Poland, we have a SEAT Cordoba. It's VW's side company (Skoda, Audi, VW) and that's its versoin of the Jetta. Unfortunately SEAT does not exist elsewhere.

Very neat!

Kit... actually, Arctic Chill knew before you. haha. he also knew that i almost bought an Acura.

I already have a hook-up. my cousin who has one HELLUVA Golf has a buddy who works at a dealership. i can get OEM parts at cost.

i'm pretty happy with the car so far. i wanted a Jetta a few years back but just never had the opportunity to pick one up. and i love this body style. i'm not the biggest fan of the rounder (newer) Jettas. If i were ever to get a new dub, it would be a Golf.

but, i'm glad you guys like it. smile.gif i'm happy i found it

Is it a VR6?
No offense, but I heard that Jettas were the #1 car driven by homosexuals.

From my observations, I'll agree. Does circle get the square? :x

Heh, but since you were just looking for a car and not like "YEAHHHH I WANT A JETTA BECAUSE EVERYONE I KNOW HAS ONE HEHE", you're fine. smile.gif
