Well, 7 more days until I get married! I must admit that I'm rather excited!! laugh.gif
You guys have any words of wisdom for a long, happy marriage?
Also, no, there is no talking me out of this one... she is THE girl of my dreams, and I could never ask for anything more.
If anyone is near Northeast Georgia, and you have nothing to do on the 27th around 6pm then you are invited to attend. Zip code 30531, heh I think it'd be pretty sweet to have a Tibby escort to the reception!! cool.gif I really wish that all of you guys could attend...
Presents and/or money gifts are more than welcome too! heh wink1.gif lmao.gif
I'll get some pictures up as soon as I get them, so you can see the poor girl that gets to be with me... lol

I got the invitaton man, thanks so much. Marla and chris knew who it was by the picture as soon as I showed it to them. You've put on a bit of weight, that's good! We miss you here man, you are a good friend and you deserve the best. Hence why you now have the "Best ride in the park!"

Advise? Here are the 7 rules I try to live by in my relationship with my wife. We just hit 4 years, and every day is stronger. I love that woman so much it hurts, and she supports me in all my endevors and through all my pain. Some of this can be uncomfortable to try, but you are making a promise to eachother, so you must try with all you can.
1. Communicate. If you don't talk, or can't somehow manage to bring up things that bother you, you will have serious issues. Both of you need to figure a way to talk about things that bother you. The smallest things can have the biggest of consequences later. TALK. If it's to the point that you need to write down your feelings, do so.
2. Walk away. When you are ready to blow up or someone said the wrong thing, walk away. Don't do anything, just say something like "I'm walking away to cool off, we'll talk about this in a bit". This goes for both of you. Go to another room, close the door, turn on some music (softly), and do something to calm down. Lock the door if you have to. Do not go to your car and drive off (nice way to get in a wreck), and respect the other person's right to calm down. This will diffuse most situations. After you chill out, do #1.
3. Love the faults. When the freshman 40 hits (the 40 pounds you both gain in your freshman year of marriage), realize there's just more of the other to love. Work on it together, and don't change anything because of it. If you are concerned about something that is developing, refer to #1.
4. Get hobbies. Both of you. Wether it's playing video games or cross stitching, get a hobby to pass the time and get your other interested in it. Have her help turning some wrenches on your car, and you help her wash the dog. Whatever it is, do it together. You will build such a strong relationship that time apart is literally painful. Respect eachothers hobbies as a way to escape from stress, and find a way to work them together. Let her watch her shows, and you watch yours. Make sure you talk about them (#1).
5. Do new stuff. Boredom can easily ruin a good thing. Do new stuff. Wether it's trying new food, attempting to cook something you never have before, going to a new club, climbing a mountain, or going on a spontaneous trip, do SOMETHING new. Anything. Don't overdo it, but do it often. Make a list of stuff you or she has never done before that the other has, try to even those lists out. Work on personal fears together, and most of all, make sure you talk about the new feelings and results of your adventures. (#1)
6. Learn to trust, learn to forget. If you have issues with either of these, talk about it. #1
7. Be Romantic, Be spontaneous. These are the things that drive women into deeper love. These are the stories you will hear for your life. Pick her up from work with a bag packed with everything she needs for the weekend, hidden in the back of the car. Tell her you are going for a drive, and enjoy it. End up at a expensive hotel with a hottub in it and take her to dinner. Suprise her with a fully planned anniversary at a bed and breakfast. Splurge on a weekend doing something you'll never forget. Get the special package at a resort for a weekend. A $250 package can pay big relationship dividends over the next several years. Talk about it afterwards, and bring itup when it's truly on your mind. (#1) You'll both smile.
You might see that #1 is pretty important man. Anyways, I wish we could be there, it's just too far for us right now. Maybe we can all meet up for the Nopi Nationals this year. Any way it goes, you know you are like a brother to me my friend, and you are always welcome here, including your wife.
Congratulations.

Congrats and good luck! It'll be 14 years for me and the misses next month. The secret to keeping your wife committed is to have a big schlong and lots of money. She'll do anything to make you happy smile.gif
