Motorola Slvr Itunes
So I have a motorola slvr L7 through T-Mobil. Is there any way I can install I-Tunes on it? I just want to put music on it, but itunes would be nice. I hooked up a cord from the phone to the computer, it showed in my computer, then disappeared. When I clicked it when it showed up it said "Insert Disc". I'm guessing it doesn't work because there is no memory card in it, just the stock. What do you think?
Look for some software called (i think) Motorola Phone Tools.
That's what I used to change background images, ringtones and upload music to my RAZR. I'm pretty sure there's a newer version of the same software suite for the newer bunch of Motorola phones.
Using that software might be considered "hacking" your phone, to your phone company though. So I take no responsibility for your actions. tongue.gif

MPT is made by motoroloa. They make new versions all the time and it automatically updates itself. You can get it from limewire or bittorrent/bitcommet.
I use it. Whenever I come into my room my RAZR V3c connects to the computer. The computer links via bluetooth and you can use your speakers to play the sound comming out of your phone, or a headset. You can use your microphone to talk to the phone. The computer can do all text messaging functions. The computer becomes a interface for voice and data. You will not be able to play games on your computer or use advanced features.
Another benefeit of MPT is you can update your phone's software, get the pictures directly from it as well as voice recordings and contacts. It will synchronize your e-mail and phone contacts with outlook as well.

I've got the slvr, have flashed it, upgraded the sd card, etc. so ask me any questions you might have. I love this phone and am going to hold onto it as long as I can.
does the t-mobile version not have itunes or you just can't use it because of not having a memory card?
also check out modmymoto.com lots of good info there.

^^ The phone is actually my g/f's little sister's. Kind of a funny deal actually, lol. I made one of those soft pretzels, and anted cheese. So she said she'd make me cheese if I put music on her phone, lol. That's lazy!
Anyways... I don't believe Itunes is on it. I think that is just a Cingular option. I def need a SD chip for it, probably like 256mb or something... shes has a 60 gig video ipod anyways... I don't see why a 13 year old needs a 60 gig video ipod and a slvr when I have an old 20 gig photo and a free Samsung... I'll look for that MPT though, just have had bad luck with limewire software downloads in the past. Like the worms and trojans that like to cling to them =)

I have a black SLVR from Cingular that Ive "hacked" and put the Itunes Black version on it because it looks and matches better. Also, with this version of Itunes there is a 1000 song limit instead of a few hundred limit for Itunes that came with the SLVR. I have used the site Supercow has referred you too, and modmymoto.com is a great site fing02.gif
I have alot of sites bookmarked for hacking the SLVR, here's a few helpful ones....
MotoModders<----- Look at the first sticky at the top of the page, that'll help you with install on the 1000 song limit Itunes.
The Moto Guide<----- GREAT site with good organization and lots of helpful stuff, including Flashing/Flexing, Seem Editing, Transferring Pics and Tones, Download Modding Software, Adding iTunes, and Menu Editing
^^^ The Moto Guide has just about ALL the software you will ever need to mod a moto, so be sure to check the downloads section.
