Default Motorhome

would you guys say this is a good buy for a motorhome ?

"Has a clear title. Has a 360 motor and transmisson Runs good. Needs master cylinder has no brakes. Is semi gutted but still livable and has full bathroom still there. Needs a battery, Good buy for 200.00"

Visually everything is fine on it. and it's only $200, but I have a habit of getting myself into money pits with projects. Friends and I want to drive up to alaska over the summer. my best friend is way more mechanically inclined than I am (he pretty much did the beta swap himself and used me for labour) but i'm wondering if any of you guys have any input on this.

We were looking to spend $3000 on one and then a little more to fix it up so with this one probably about $2800 on repairs.

Plan is to sell it after the trip.

Just make sure you get a good roadside plan before leaving. wink.gif

I don't think you can go wrong with it for $200. Take your friend to have a look at it with you and since he will be doing most of the work see what he thinks.

Depends on how gutted it is and to what degree you intend on fixing it up. Depending on what gutted means to them if fixing it up involves bolting in some cupboards and sleeping on air matresses you're golden. If you're expecting to rennovate the thing into the condition of a normal motorhome then it's probably not worth it vs. finding one that's already servicable. It would really depend on what the thing is like on the inside.

On a side note, if your trip to Alaska passes through Washington and you want to meet up or a place to park the RV for a night let me know. smile.gif

Yeah our whole idea was to fix it up and have some fun making it our home for a few weeks. probably enjoy some adventures as the POS breaks down in the middle of no where. we're buying a little 50cc scooter as our "emergency distress vehicle". looking at it tomorrow, if that master cyl. is the only problem, and we can get it to run there, then we have a new motorhome.

deff. look to paying you guys a visit. you like shooting don't you ? we'll be bringing some toys with us. wink.gif

That's really tricky. You'll have to spend some time carefully going over a site like this:
A Practical Guide to Canadian Firearms Laws for Americans
To be sure you get it right. If you need help interpreting anything let me know.
