Charlotte, N.C. (June 19, 2011) - Two children, both 11-years-old, have been arrested after disturbing images were discovered on a child's cell phone.
According to Charlotte police, an investigation was launched in April after a mother found sexually explicit images of two younger children on her 11-year-old daughter's cell phone.
Investigators say the cell phone contained images of the mother's 5-year-old daughter engaged in sex acts with a 7-year-old boy. Detectives recovered 21 images that clearly showed the genitals of both children who were involved in the sex acts.
An investigation revealed that the younger children were forced to have sex by the two older 11-year-old children, who then took photographs of the incident.
A Charlotte area psychologist stated that the incident is cause for alarm.
"We should be concerned about it," stated Dr. Dan Biber on Thursday.
Both 11-year-old children were charged with sexual exploitation of a minor.
