What did you do on your first date? Where did you go, what did you talk about, did you know you would be with the other person for awhile after the date or did it take a few of them? Did you kiss the other person after the first date or did it take a couple?
Going on a date tonight with a girl Ive been talking to for awhile. We already know a bunch about each other so it wont have that awkward phase of getting to know each other.

Careful dating a friend. My ex was my friend for 2 years before we dated. When we started dating, we knew each other so well, we skipped over that exciting "discovery" stage and slid right into long-term relationship. It got stale pretty quick and we broke up. That was almost 3 years ago. I still love her and miss her.

Don't get married, it's a TRAP!
Seriously though, just don't.
Can you be a lucky one? Maybe. It does happen. People change though. They change a lot. They change so much that sometimes you won't be able to live with them anymore.
So don't risk it.
I honestly think getting married ruined my perfectly good relationship.
First dates? Mine aren't really relevant. Good ones depend on how you meet someone and how well you know them before the date. It also depends heavily on your goals for the date and what sort of relationship you're looking for. I assume you've talked a little, figure out something you'll both enjoy that lets you get to know each other. No movies, that's a terrible date.
In general, doing something interesting that she's never done is a good date. It even works if she doesn't particularly enjoy it as long as you can leave early. YOU decide where to go though, most women think it's nice to hang out with a decisive confident guy vs. a guy that will always ask her what she wants to do. You can ask her if your idea sounds alright, and pick something else if it doesn't, but don't say "What do you want to do?".
