Looking At Car Lifts?
What exactly is the point of those lifts? To change your tires? You can't access underneath the car with those, to me it kind of defeats the purpose of a lift, having all those crossmembers on the platform of the platform. I want a lift to get underneath the car, I can use a standard floor jack and stands for tires/brakes/etc.
Something I just noticed... It doesn't seem practical for all around usage.

Ease of use compared to jack stands is one, the big stuff is wheel/brake work, oil changes and such. when you think about it, the only stuff that would really be blocked with these is serious exhaust work. The fact that these are mobile is a plus too.

It's really cool but is WAAAAY too much for what your getting, if it was in the 500-700 price range I could see it being a big hit. Really this thing is about $150 in metal pieces welded together. Be looking for these to hit harbor freight at about 500 dollars.
for the money this would be a way better option. Got 10' ceilings redzman?

I've found one of those that will fit, and posted about it before, but unfortunately they I wouldn't be able to lift past about 1/2 way, which makes most of it a waste.
Still looking though.

whats above the garage? If it's attic then I'd be looking into remodeling! lol
That ezlift is neat and all, I just think they are selling it for 3x what it's worth. Maybe someone will buy it up, mass produce it, and get the price down. I was just posting the hydraulic lift for comparison. Seems silly to me to buy a lift thats less capable for more money. Sure the other one's portable (which would be nice to take to scca events, track days, etc. but I'd rather have an easier to use/higher lift at home. My plan for our next house is to have a nice shop (like a morton building 30x60 or something like that with some work space and a nice 2 post like that off to the side.

An attic, but I use it. I just really have no need for something to go that high in the end. Something I've been looking at for some time though. Nice thing about that EZ one is that it is portable though. I never said I was gonna buy it guys, I just saw it posted at another site and wanted to post it here. LOL
I'd rather get a scissor lift for me.
There are 2 post models that don't require bolting if I remember correctly. I had some posts in a thread about them I think not too long ago.

hum.. I think I'd rather have the bolted in version. Whats the advantage of the other? just so you can move it around the shop, or to a different shop?
the scissor lift looks nice but it would suck for exhaust... but I hate doing exhaust work and avoid it.

See, my exhaust is done, probably won't be touched again here at my house.
I don't know if I'd want the 2 posts there all the time, running into them and all. I'm not getting any younger. LOL

Meh, these are pretty much useless.
I can lift my car higher that those can. My next step is hydraulic lift.
I have 4 20T jackstands that lift up about a 4 1/2 feet. I also have a jack that lifts that high with some wooden blocks I made for it tongue.gif

$1800 for something that barely lifts my car higher than a floor jack and will always be in the way of what I need to work on? No thanks. A 2-post only costs a few hundred more and will work much better for me.
