i love it when this guy says that the 6th gen zo6 hits 210. WHAT??? not that i know of...i mean, he is talking stock.
fastest i've heard a stock ls7 zo6 go is 202...and that was questionable.
this guy is really a tool....top speed on a grand am 167mph??? there is no way.
i remember when i had my 2k tib with cai, 4-1 header, and exhaust with a little weight reduction and raced a 2k-ish grand am and smoked it. not just beat it. SMOKED it. like it was standing still. then the guy wanted to race from a roll. so about 30mph, we went and i still smoked it. by the time i hit 100ish, he was at least 2-3 carlengths behind me.
had to quote this man..too funny
edit: i read ALL three pages (just because i have THAT much time on my hands at work) and these guys, "trolls" are acutally defending the tiburon vs. a monte carlo. which, i have to disagree here, the monte carlo "might" have a slight upper had (torque). but having never seen a race between a stock v6 tib and a mc, i dunno.

I dont know if you are talking about the SC Monte Carlo or the NA. But a friend of mine has an NA, and I raced him in my 97 1.8L...we were totally even until I shifted to 4th and he pulled about 3 feet on me. Then we stayed at that same spot until we both shut it down. I also had a friend in my car and he didnt...of course the SC model is much faster then the NA one tho.

I found this funny.

Yes, Hondas do not have much for torque, but think of it this way. Honda makes small cars, used to race and drift.
^ the s2000 is a great drift car.....and spoon civics are tEh mAd tYte rACe cArZ yO.
i was talking about the n/a monte carlo...so i guess the v6 would run circles around it...hm..

They are just haters! I have respect for any car on the road, especially ones that are quick/fast. Doesn't mean I'd own/drive that particular car, but I'd always give props to someone who put some time and money into their car to make it quicker smile.gif
I never got a chance to feel the handling of GK, but my RD had a very nice feel in the corners comparing to my new boat. I could probably still outrun the tib in the corners with so much torque and RWD, but my Z has was too much body roll and all that other bad crap. I need to start working on the suspension!
Also that statement that horsepower sells cars and torque wins the races is complete bullshit! I hate to see this every time someone says it! Yes, it's nice to have 300+ lbs of tq at 2500rpms and if you were to take a corners it would help a lot, but who stays at 2500rpms when they race in the straight line? I leave at 3000rpms and stay almost at 5grand with every shift and my torque is not that high in that range... stupid morons! Blah!!!

Weight distribution is why I like my car, it probably isn't perfect, but it feels pretty even to me. And I'm sure Lupus will correct me if I'm wron about that on late '80s model Crown Vics/ Grand Marquis.
Hahaha...proven wrong later that it wasn't 50/50 balanced.
And that kid talks about how he likes his 302. Sorry...but anything smaller than a 350 is/was/will always be crap.
And then the rest of that thread nose-dives into the Chevy Aveo...aka PoS rebadged Daewoo.
Not dissing on American cars...but the ignorance of TRUCK owners...and owners of outdated turds and jalopies...since when did rednecks learn to use a computer? Shouldn't they be sleeping with their cousins, or banging their sisters?

Zuh? They maintain that 300+ ft-lbs...and not to mention...most domestics have a much lower redline than we do. We can still match them HP for HP, and possibly not as much torque for torque...but that's due to the fact that we can rev higher than they do. Remember...HP is a product of torque and RPMs.
I'm a bit confused as to why you mentioned that.

RDs are notorious for creaking noises when the chassis twists. Now...imagine none of that...but in a heavier car. laugh.gif

Lastly, it's interior is so small and cramped, I would rather drive a coffin
Probably a fat redneck who was more concerned over the fact that the cupholders arent big enough for his mason jar full of whiskey than anything else. There's always gonna be haters.....I've definetly run into my fair share.
