I though you guys might enjoy this slight humour. I hate calling tech support which I have to do alot in my line of work. (I own a computer business, repair, new computer, networks, web hosting, etc.) So I end up using chat alot because it's less annoying than waiting on hold for 15 minutes.

Anyways I always treat tech support nicely and intelligently, I assume they know as much about computers as I do and talk to them in that way. If they don't then I'll step down the tech talk because I know that they aren't going to try as hard to help the mean guy. Anyways here's what I get. Pretty much the guy has no idea/doesn't want to look it up. (at the end he ended the session without responding.)

Nathan
hello

Xavier
Hello Nathan.

Xavier
Welcome to HP Total Care for Compaq Presario Notebooks. My name is Xavier. How may I help you today?

Nathan
I've got a compaq 2100 laptop that I'm working on and it has a bios password on it.

Nathan
The customer doesn't know what it is.

Nathan
whats the easiest way to reset it?

Xavier
Could you please provide me the serial number of the notebook?

Nathan
sure just a sec

Nathan
CN3050xxxx

Xavier
Thank you for the serial number.

Xavier
Just to confirm, did you forgot the bios password?

Nathan
yup

Nathan
well actually it's for a customer and his nephew put it in

Nathan
and he forgot it/doesn' t know it

Xavier
Do not worry I will do my best to assist you.

Xavier
Your model of notebook is Presario 2105US model, and this notebook is specially featured with high security which cannot be cleared to remove any BIOS password as normal methods.

Xavier
Normally we can clear the BIOS password by just removing and replacing the CMOS battery from the motherboard which does the job required.

Nathan
^^yeah, thats what I was expecting, that or a special key sequence to get past it

Xavier
But in this case as a security it was placed as a separate chip part on the motherboard and need to visit the nearest service center to clear the password.

Xavier
So, in this case, I would recommend you contact the nearest service center to fix the issue.

Xavier
I will provide you the link for contacting the nearest service center.

Nathan
but I am the service center, I'm just not hp certified, it's for a customer

Xavier
Okay.

Xavier
If you are familiar in removing the cmos battery and resetting it back.

Xavier
You can do it.

Nathan
is it accessible from a panel on the bottom or am i going to need to remove the keyboard?

Xavier
I suggest you to take the notebook to Hp authorised service center.

Nathan
lol, ok I'll find the battery by myself

Xavier
It is recommened to take to Hp service center.

Xavier
Is there anything else I could help you with?

Nathan Parks
nope, not unless you'll help me find the battery

Xavier
Okay.

Domo aragato(sp?) Mr. Roboto!

Seriously, that guy sounded more like an automated service than an actual person.
