^ haha

I think its a general thought/misconception that anyone who lives in the south is a redneck. They do actually have cities down there, and people actually do marry other people that they are not related to! tongue.gif wink.gif

yes, there are cities down here. Rather large cities, with quite a few well known corporate headquarters, including:

Nissan Corporate Headquaters.
Bridgestone/Firestone.
Vanguard Health Systems.
HCA.
Regal Entertainment Group.
Caremark Pharmacy Services.
Caterpillar Financial Services.
Gibson Guitars.
Gruhn Guitars.
Logan's Roadhouse.
Purity Dairies.
Oreck.
Universal Music Group.
Thomas Nelson Publishing.
Randall House Publications.
Cracker Barrell, Tractor Supply Co., Dollar General, Singer, and about 10 major health services corporations.

We have like 10 major hospitals in downtown Nashville alone, including Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and 35+ higher education institutions within 30 miles of Downtown Nashville. Did I mention we have dozens of recording studios and we're known for our music industry?

Oh yeah, and we have an NHL and NFL team in Nashville as well as the NBA in Memphis. mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif

edit: forgot to include TN has Corporate HQ for FedEx, CCA, Genesco, Pilot Gas, Gaylord Entertainment, AutoZone, International Paper, and Community Health Systems.

It's not a misconception. Tenessee is too far north. Here, I get funny looks for having a car. People around this area are rednecks. Seriously... I've never seen so many trucks with truck nuts. You can actually go to Walmart and expect to find a family all dressed in camoflauge. You can go to the hospital and find a family reunion of people in ratty t-shirts, blue jeans and mud covering their boots... even the ladies. Shirts with collars are considered dress attire here.

Haha!

That is always about how I've imagined Tennessee. Of course, having never been there I also assume I'm wrong.

The only time I've ever been to "the South" I was in the airport in Atlanta. I was a bit terrified.
