Do these people have monkeys in a basement somewhere working on this site?
The Rocket Scientists Who Designed the ObamaCare Website Forgot The Whole Payment Part
As unbelievable as it sounds, word now comes that the beleaguered ObamaCare website doesn’t have a payment mechanism. And Fox’s Megyn Kelly, for one, isn’t happy about it. In fact, she’s downright ticked off.
Kelly was flabbergasted to learn that because no one is able to actually pay for healthcare coverage on the site yet, the plan is for insurance companies to simply “estimate” the cost of each plan – and for the government “true up” the difference later. Not good, said an agitated Megyn Tuesday night:
Via Reuters: The administration is planning a “workaround” for payments, said Daniel Durham, vice president for policy and regulatory affairs at America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP).
Incidentally, Walmart.com handled over one billion page views on Cyber Monday. Yet HealthCare.gov crashes when as few as 20-30,000 people attempt to use it at the same time.

“You’re touting this improved Healthcare.gov. How does the system work without a payment mechanism? There is no cash register!”

Health plans will estimate how much they are owed, and submit that estimate to the government. Once the system is built, the government and insurers can reconcile the payments made with the plan data to “true up” payments, he said.
“The intent is to make sure plans get paid on time, which is a good thing,” Durham told Reuters.

Yes. They hired extra monkeys so it would be "ready" only a month late, and the newsreaders on Monday said it was good to go, so it must be.
In related news, the other thing they didn't write into the system was data security. No kidding, the site is as secure as leaving your doors unlocked. One security expert says it should be another year before retrofitted security is good enough to use the site. The other one I read thinks the whole project should be scrapped, the lack of security is so bad.
But they CARE. They can't get sh*t right, but they CARE. Not about actual people so much but the ideal, THAT really gets them going.

So when millions of people are getting their identities stolen because they used a website that the Government DEMANDS that you use by the end of the year, what law firm is gonna represent all of those said people when the lawsuits start flying everywhere?

I am still inclined to chalk it up to gross incompetence but the wilder side of my brain thought of this the other day. (get your tin foil hats)
Everybody signs up, everybody has their identity stolen. You know what you need then? A NEW identity system. Credit of course should go through a government clearinghouse because the private credit system failed (nevermind how). So, you need a new ID card. Political undesirables need not apply - and be careul what you do/say after you get the new ID, citizen!
