Life Without Them? We'll Never Know
My Father had a couple of Opels.. one a rare 1968 Kadette Rallye (Only 500 built and his was probably the only one in the states) it was an homogulation special so Opel could take it world rallying.. He bought it in Spain while he was stationed there and shipped over when he came back.
Another was a early 70s (I forget what year) Gt.. that was a sexy car.. it was the one they showed going through the fire and then when the commercial talked about "bringing them back to life" that the guy whips the sheet off of. The coolest part was the headlights.. they did not flip around like a vette, but rotated along the axis of the car.
As for life without cars... well, we would certainly be growing a lot more rose gardens from the horse manure.
