The hood in its box is too big for UPS and FedEx to accept, so I have to ship motor freight. The cheapest quote I got from my local pack&send was $160.

Any one know where I can go to ship this thing for $100 or less??? I googled "motor freight" and got a bunch of hits, but I don't know which, if any, of those businesses are reliable.

Any ideas?

look into greyhound shipping. you have to drop off and pickup at a greyhound station, but its supposed to be SUPER cheap.

look into fedex or look for a freight company

the company that delivered my hood was Bax Global ( link to BAX Global Website )...
came right to my door way up on a hill out in the boonies... I even talked to customer service about me not being home when it was going to be delivered, and they were super friendly and helped me out so that the delivery wouldn't be delayed... two thumbs up from me.

Fed-Ex Freight is good, and they will deliver to residential addresses, it just costs extra. Honestly, for the price you're gonna pay in freight on any of the big freight lines, you'd almost be better off driving it wherever yourself, plus you'll know for a fact that it'll get there in one piece, cuz some of these freight companies tend to beat the hell out of things. I know this cuz I ship stuff for a living, and these freight companies beat the hell out of my packages.
