KIA Motors Corporation has commenced production of the Cheolima at Yencheng City plant in China. The Cheolima sedan will be available with either a 1.3 or a 1.6 liter engine produced exclusively for the Chinese market.
KIA expects to produce 5,000 Cheolima vehicles for 2002 and 50,000 units in 2003. The Pride is currently produced in China and KIA aims to produce 500,000 vehicles annually in China by 2010.
