i herd the new eclipse isnt that great... hard to get traction.... but i also herd that they might make an evo version of the eclipse... evo drivtrain... eclipse body... that would be pretty nice...

do u like the WRX STI at all... those cars and nice too

ford is supposed to make a turbo AWD ford fusion

the SS cobalt is nice too... got all that GM performance stuff u can do to it, i think doesnt break warranty... im not shure though

 

hamhead - The tranny is a POS. I've had that horrible grinding problem with 2nd gear ever since I bought it, and before I left it was getting harder and harder to put it into 1st. But the main reason I'd rebuild the eninge and tranny is because if I keep the Tib, turbo'ing it will be a must! cool.gif

Sparticus - I wholeheartedly agree! The base 6 looked nice, but the MS version looks dead sexy! It sorta reminds me of a BMW M-series.

cdubb - That is what I like about it. However, I've heard that VW's aren't very reliable. That kinda makes me a little wary of any VW.

I have a friend that has the VW GTI anniversary edition...really really nice! Believe it already has 18" wheels...oz racing package...and he hasnt had a trouble with it yet! If I were to buy a GTI, I would probably go w/ the anniversary edition...limited quantity, but atleast you know they spent a lil bit more time and effort on that model!

 

I was in the same situation and got back from bagdad march 2005. I kept my 97 Tib and even though it had some problems (I.E. Blown engine), I did however own the car and it was paid off. I went out and bought a 03 GT Tib and did quite a bit of things to it, recently it was stolen and now crap out of luck for getting it back. Now sitting in my drive is the ol 97 ready to be picked up and pieced back together. My point is if its already paid off and even if it isn't running keep it cause you never know what could happen. Still get a new car if you want and do whatever you want to it but save the other for a rainy day. I was planning on fixing my 97 this summer anyway but now it's going to save my arse and don't have to go all looking for a beater real quick. I'm looking at going back to Iraq later this year but I'm out so I'd be going as a civilian and you know as well as I civilians make crazy money out there and its way more laid back. You know the civilians out there have a cake walk and don't listen to no crap from anyone in the military. I'll then come back and probably pick up another new tib and do all the things I had done on the other that had be snatched up, just put a way better alarm and park it in a garage. Just my 2 cents, just take it from someone who just did what you are thinking.
