Just Joined A Credit Union
Today I joined a credit union. Before I've been doing my banking with BofA In my early years I phucked up my credit like an idiot. Now my credit is on a fair decent track and I hear A LOT of good things about credit unions and figured id give them a shot. Any of you belong to credit unions, banks or both?

Although I miss some of the features of a big bank like mobile apps for banking I am a local credit union member and still feel the pros far outweigh the cons of a big bank. From the little things like always having coffee and snacks to the important things like not charging ridiculous fees and/or requiring bogus terms to avoid said fees. Love it- and more people should make the switch, in my opinion.

Congratulations! I've been a member of the same Credit Union for over 10 years with no complaints. I started off with a Wells Fargo bank account and they started charging me lots of BS fees so I left them for the CU my sister works at. No BS fees anymore. I'll warn you though, not all CU's are created equal. I've dealt with some crappy CU's in the past. I hide money in the online account since it's out of sight, out of mind kind of thing.
I've been telling people, the best way to vote in this economic system is with your money. If you don't agree with the major banks, then move your capital elsewhere.

"I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies.
Already they have raised up a monied aristocracy that has set the government at defiance. The
issuing power (of money) should be taken away from the banks and restored to the people to
whom it properly belongs." — Thomas Jefferson
