No. It's not.

CVVT is more for gas economy I think. Maybe it also plays into the Beta 2s ability to get rid of that lame 3500-4500 dip we have. Beta 2s hp/torque curves are nice and smooth...

Redz he's somewhat right. It's doesn't really kick in like V-tec, but pretty much has a the same idea behind it; it advances timing, 20 degrees over beta2, but those 20 degrees are used to burn fuel more efficiently and have a lot less polutions, which doesn't give new beta any HP increasment and actually makes it loose some, but since the curve of a new beta is a lot nice it makes the car faster smile.gif
