Yup...I've decided to go ahead with this project and add on to my house. I have a really nice yard, and I've been contemplating a pool and jaccuzzi for quite some time. Pulled the trigger on it and now just need to figure out some designs. Here are some that I like...

I like the idea of a waterfall, so I may end up doing some kind of fountain to add on to it

They would all work. Hard to say how it would go without a pic of the location.

No pool here, not warm enough of the year to justify it. Will be getting a hot tub though.

I like "Infinity" pools. I'd do a two-level pool. Make the upper level a hot tub with the "Infinity" treatment and the pool on the lower level. JMHO.

i love pools that really bond nature together, not those ordinary ones surrounded by concrete or stone.

I love Infinity pools. If I lived on a cliff or if there was some kind of a drop off in my back yard...I would totally do one of those. I live in a housing track, so I dont think it'll look as good as a traditional in ground pool.

I took that into consideration... That's why I figured just do an elevated hot-tub with the Infinity treatment. That could be your waterfall into the pool. cool.gif

I like the first one, but it really depends on your home design and landscaping I think. What will be surrounding the pool? Got pics of the backyard/house?

If it's a modern looking house/backyard, then I'd look into something like option 5.
If it's exotic, go with 2 or 3.
Since it's track housing, and everything probably fairly "normal" and common, option 4 might best fit the house.

How big is the backyard? What is the home/subdivision demographic (considering resale value/appeal).

Are you in a young family neighborhood where the next residents may find it appealing for kids? Is it a mid-30s professional level development that would want it for entertaining (exotic)? Is it an older generation (40-60 yrs) that would want focus on elegance and lounging around rather than active diving boards?

Also use that for consideration of depth. How deep are you wanting? 6 foot deep end? 3 foot all around for pool volleyball?

I personally LOVE pool volleyball. I spend much of the summer playing with friends. If I were installing a pool, I'd probably consider having lines painted on the bottom for the court!

My house is laid out and looks VERY similiar to this one. I'll have to get pics added so you guys can see. $394K gets you one hell of a house around here. smile.gif

Its a brand new house that was built recently. The area is in a gated community (we have guys in security trucks that actually patrol), and its a very well off area (lots of corporate executives, doctors, attorneys, construction business owners, etc), so the age ranges everything from young 30 something professionals, all the way up to retirees....both family and singles.

Dont think Im gonna go the diving board route, but I am definitely gonna do a slide. Ive been in touch with the contractor already whos gonna do the work, and they're sending over a few designs today of some pools they did recently they feel I may like, considering the area and how my back yard is laid out. They're saying it'll take around 3-4 weeks to do everything from start to fully finish (with landscaping), so I cant wait! smile.gif
