DTN - Were those ATC guys you talked to Baghdad Radio? Cuz I'm sitting in Baghdad Radio right now (my unit runs it and the control tower here in the IZ)
I was in Ar Ramadi LIVING with the air force guys... they stayed next door, but of course they had their own big screen TV with satellite, refrigerator and a couch.... just about everything you could ask from home. The army won't pay for all of that. We had to buy ice for our icebox every day cuz our generator wasn't reliable enough to run a fridge.
... and of course i got to see 5 rotations of those guys while i was there because they bearly stay long enough to get comfortable in their couch, watching their big screen TV, drinking cold water and near-beer.
