Okay, I've got a small freezer for my garage for Green Chile (it's a New Mexican thing, you wouldn't understand), but since we buy in bulk from Costco, I need a freezer dedicated for food in my garage. I also would LOVE to have a fridge out there, in order to keep bulk water, milk, beer, ect, in that won't fit in the kitchen.
So, why not a regular fridge and toss it in there?
I need a decent sized freezer, and not much of a fridge. Honestly, I need reverse fridge/freezer combo. They DO exist....

That's the one I like the most, but it's 21 frigging cubic feet, kinda big I think. Maybe not, but it also might be more than I want to spend right now.
Anyways, anyone know of some others that are designed like this? I found a 10 cubic foot one by LG, but it's TINY, by that I mean super thin.
It's a bit of a niche product right now, but I wanna find something similar, maybe a bit smaller, and a bit cheaper.
There are also convertable 2 door freezers, that let you convert one section to a fridge, and that would work too.

Since I do appliance repair as my profession, I should chime in here. The Gladiator is built specifically by Whirlpool and designed to be in unheated areas. Since you live in New Mexico, this does not apply to you. You can get away with anything in your garage at this point. I will tell you to stay away from LG and Samsung. Both can be very expensive and costly to repair as well. Stick with a known appliance manufacturer like Whirlpool, Frigidaire, Maytag on refrigeration, you will still have a second through fifth year on the sealed system, and if something happens to it, you can actually find someone to fix the damn thing.

The more I look at it, the more I like the price. It's a 15 cubic foot freezer with a decent fridge on top. I've got a coupon for Lowes for 10% off, which would at least take care of tax and a bit more.
Thanks Tanc.
BTW, chest freezers are out of the picture.

just wanted to shot something at you. I dont know about where you live. But here in Miami Sears has an outlet this is where they take all the scratch, dents, display models, When I bought my apt i need it to get new apliances including a washer/dryer stack. stove and fridge. Im not exagarating when im telling you that i spend exactly half of what those same models were at sears. you still have your regular warranty. And the best part was that the reason why these appliances were half price or at their cost was because of stupid minor things. My stainless steel fridge had a nasty scratch on the side. But guess what is agains the wall so no one is going to see it. My kenmore double stack washer dryer had a dent like the one's you give a car when you lean on it. so the dryer drum was rubbing on it. I took of a couple screws and pop the dent right out. So look into it. They dont deliver so take a pick up truck.

Yeah, we have a few places like that here, and I'm considering them, but none of them carry this type of freezer that I know of.
^ ^ the drunk bastard can't read.
Get an oversized freezer. You have plenty of electricity to power it. If you have extra space, store the Tequila and rum in there.
Don't you have a 3 car garage? I assume size isn't an issue, should fit easily. It seems like price is more of a factor than size. Check out Sam's Club, or build one of the big 30 cu. ft. freezers into a freezer/kegerator combo.
sorry, a little too much johnnie red tonight alcoholic.gif

Sorry, I saw Tancs name in the bottom of the page viewing the thread and his name stuck. THANK YOU YAMAHA!
Yes, 3 car garage, but I don't want to just pile up all the space I have with a spare freezer.
Does anyone know of any other convertable fridges or one like I posted?

The only thing you are doing with a freezer/refrigerator is changing the actual ambient temperature in the unit. Look at the link I provided, the Frigidaire unit is nice for the money.

Thanks man, I saw that one yesterday. It's only got the one door though, so it's all refrigerator or freezer. On the right track though.
