ahah just my thread huh.

hey we're lucky we have them! it's unlikely to find them (especially 2) in early 90's celicas, eclipses, escorts, and other verious models.

i just use my center console to hold drinks hahaa. in automatics, hand hitting the cupholder tray isn't a problem.

i remember reading when the car was released, for example, the interior was modeled after an airplane and the front dash after a cockpit supposed to give only the driver the feeling of command:

another fact: the car was designed for the sole target group of teenage youth, commuters, or college students who didn't have to buy an expensive, fashionable car to be able to own, have fun in, or drive a car (remind you of the Genesis and Genesis Coupe themes? they come from this very motive). the RD1 combined HCD 1, HCD 2, and HCD 3 together instead of releasing the HCD 1. the convertible was due following the Celica convertible. since poor Celica sales were reported, the Tiburon convertible was cancelled right before production stages. So they modeled the Celica, which is why they double-eyed the RD2.

there's really not much i'd like to know other than i'd ask WHO REALLY designed our cars? we know intern students from the San. Fran Academy made the HCD-3, and but i suspect Porsche or Giugiaro ItalDesign responsible for the final design.

That rear seat... wow. But okay, here goes:

-What was the reasoning behind the powerplant choice in the s-coupe turbo? What was the big idea behind over-engineering the engine for a miniature, non intercooled turbo? Cost, longevity, room for error?

-Why was the australian market one of the only ones to get a decent run of DOHC X3s?

-Y U USE TRAILING ARMS MAN?! Not only are they quite heavy, they result in some of the worst kinematics ever devised.

-Why did the beta go from MAF to MAP to MAF again?

-How did you keep costs down for the alpha engine, while still improving its features with each generation?

-What were some cancelled design features that were ruled out because of cost?

GM, why did you make the oil pressure sensor on LSx cars plastic? Are you supposed to break it when removing the intake manifold?
