Yesterday I shot a buddies RRA w/ a 10" barrel, I LOVED IT! There's only one problem. His exact gun is his gun used with his swat team so it's a law enforcement. Anybody have suggestions on a 10" barrel AR? I'm not that good with the tactical stuff, so can I just buy the AR I want, and then put a 10" barrel on it later, or do I buy it at the same time?
Oh, and do I need a Class III for the barrel?

Your best bet is to go to your local law enforcement office and find out what the laws are in your city/state. From there, you can find deals online or at your local gun shop. There are TONS of options out there.

Just buying a 10" barrel is waiting to get snagged by the BATFE if you do anything else wrong. Even taking it to the local gun range might get you jacked up if someone gets too nosy.
Google search for "Short Barreled Rifle" and research the applicable FEDERAL laws. Most States are more lax than the feds.
Besides, a 10" AR is silly unless you just find an icepick too handy and convenient to use on people.

You want a 10" AR you can get an AR pistol. Adding a stock is class III territory. Pistol is fine though, at least at the federal level.
