I arrested a gunman today!
So here what's up : I am a armed security officer and I do security in a low income housing complex. The place is rough with some criminal activity.
So while in my office I hear people saying there is a Guy with a gun and he is shooting! So I immediately went outside and I see this Guy with a mask on and a gun. He is robbing someone while holding on to him so I pull out my weapon and draw on him. I commanded he dropped the gun a couple times and he did. He then turn away from me and raised his hand.
The gunman began to walk towards the front of the car and then ran. I chased him, caught up to him and began to fight with him to get on the ground. He was a big Guy and I couldn't get him to the ground but then a big group of people came one carry the gunman's gun. I commanded him to drop the gun he did then the gunman got away again. I picked up the gun a continue after him.
I got around the corner were the group of people had the gunman on the ground, they had beat him up a little. I then clear the gun to make sure it was empty and it was. I put handcuffs on the gunman and waited for the police to arrive. They showed up and took him away.
That was some crazy stuff but its my job. It feels good to get some off the streets that can try to rob someone and shoot a gun around a bunch of little kids. I'm glad how it turned out and that nobody got hurt but the gunman!

Congratulations. That is really frightening because those situations can get out of control really quickly and you don't even have time to think. It's good to have people like you around. I hear of a lot of crazy stories just in D.C. and I truly respect you guys.
