******FIRST OFF NO PERSONS HARMED OR CAR HARMED*******

Well me and the wife when to Universal Stuido's for a long weekend...on the way there is was raining like crazy. I was doing like 80mph (or so she says) and after a slow lane change.......the back end came out from be and then the front. We were in the middle lane...then all of a sudden back end wipped to the right then to the left. Brakes didnt seem to do a DAMN thing either. (note to self..try E-Brake next time)so we end up doing a 180 and were facing traffic (on I-75) then we wipe around going sideways...as we head into the ditch, I see up a little ways an over head sign (like an exit sign with METAL poles holding it up) as were getting closer to it...im getting more and more pissed...Finally we come to a stop...(In a ditch..with a huge ass incline) I got out to check the damage (tire/rim/body/exhaust) and I noticed that we were ONLY about 7-10 inches from the pole. I think it's time for new Tires. I'm suprised we didnt flip over or there wasn't any body damage...would the E-brkae of helped? We slid forever. The hole ordeal of sliding seemed like a good 2minutes. Well......time to find a good deal on my 17's white now.. )

NO...e-braking while sliding is a VERY bad thing, especially going that fast. If you hit a dry or rough patch going sideways with the E enabled you could have flipped the car. You would not be able to control the car anymore than you would normal braking.

The best thing to do is to apply moderate pedal pressure will turning into the skid to attempt to even out the car. I know that can be hard when going that fast and/or spinning quickly. I've experimented with this kinda stuff on my friends old CRX. The stock Tib tires are horrible in the rain..felt them slip a bit driving home from work today in the rain.

Slam on the brake = e-brake on a rainy road
it will help you lose more control if there's any..
On a rainy road, slow down and when you need brake pump your brake since there are no ABS on our rides..

Do some rear doughnuts while your at it..
The best thing you can do when your losing control of your car is step on the clutch or put it in neutral and steer to gain control on the road..

I had mine before in snow. Slammed on the clutch, no brake, no gas, just pure steering to get control/traction. I managed to just fishtail for about 10 seconds. 2 minutes seems a long time.
