As u all probalbly know hurricane wilma is a catagory 4 hurricane and is suppose to hit florida between saturday - tuesday. floridians are already evacuating. who can blame them this year has had the worste natural disasters.

Well im going to orlando florida on saturday and will be there till halloween mad.gif . Now if u dont know this im from california it doesn't even really snow here (2x my entire life) and im kinda scared. i hope that it will get knocked down to a tropical storm b4 it hits florida but even then 100 mph winds Eyecrazy.gif

i just kinda find it ironic that floridians are trying to leave and im going there to work.
i dont really have a choice of goin or not. if i dont go i will have to pay 1,500. if i go and get stuck ill get paid the whole time. at $13.00 and sub pay i cant just not go.

well i hope that this storm avoids me.
i plan on working about 200 hours on this trip. i need the money and i don't think flyryde and k-spec can make it without my money so wish me luck.

While Orlando is low lying (disney world is built on a swamp) it is inland. Generally it is the coastal areas that get destroyed when a hurricane comes through. Worst you will probably see is some flooding, a LOT of rain and wind, trees down, and loss of power.

Yea man i have to agree. Your main concern is going to be power/gas/food that sort of thing. Basically the whole state shuts down for about 3 days or more, and everything that is shipped into the state becomes hard to get. Whatever gas there is is expensive, if there is any and there may or may not be a curfew, or something to that effect. Power wil more than likely be out for a few days, thats not too bad, you get used to it. However im on the east coast smack dab in the middle of the state so you will get your power/gas/food back quicker than us on the coast. Since you are inland, that makes all the diffrence in the world. Still expect alot of wind and rain and flying stuff and try to protect your car in w/e way you can. Im gunna throw mine in my garage. Thats all there is to it. cool.gif

Its only a Cat 4 too

I am a certified hurricane/typhoon veteran, wilma won't be like katrinia it'll suck balls, but don't panic and bring some canned goods and water before you go out there. prepare yourself to be without power so bring a PSP.

sh*t's heading right for our vacation house in ft. myers. who would have expected for it to veer off in the opposite direction. i remember the last few bits of hurricane isabelle in maryland and it was knocking down trees all over the city. the entire city was without power for 10 days. you could only get ice from McDonalds.

school, stores, restaurants...etc. were all stopped. the silcence you wouldn't believe. the roads barely driveable. it was a disaster.

i can only imagine what florida must go through. i'm surprised miami towers are still standing. i wish them all luck and i hope i have some place to come to this winter.

My cusins live around Orlando they had 100 trees down last year. I think theyre on like 2 acres or so. The electricty will be out for a long time, a week or so, good thing its nice and cool out now. Good luck Im staying. Next hurricane is Alpha right I hope its not like a cat 5 and be like the Alpha male and destroy alot.

Not sure about the flooding in south Fl but all the st Johns gets all the drain off from them and we get our roads wet. Usually 2.5 feet people will be in their boats on the roads in my neighorhood lmao.gif Dont try to drive through it with the tib only if you have a truck or something.
